"Green Porno"

We've spent so much time talking about the serious, sublime, and scary, but here's a funny web series that Italian actress Isabella Rossellini did for the Sundance Channel about animal "relations." While I was reading Fecundity, I kept thinking about this series. I've attached the earthworm and Praying Mantis, because Dillard specifically talked about these insects. If you search "Green Porno" on YouTube, there are dozens more. They're weird, but informative and fun.

Picturesque sunset

Sorry about the terrible quality of this. I saw the most beautiful sunset when I was leaving campus, but didn't have time to take a picture because the shuttle was there to take me back to my apartment. I took this picture on the bus (hence the bouncy quality and fuzziness of it)
This picture is turned to the right 90 degrees. As you can see, I was definitely on a bus. These are all the lovely patrons on said bus with me.

Moss Graffiti

Moss Graffiti (A how to guide)

*results may vary*

Most of the stuff you're gonna find on the internet is cheating, usually moss carefully cut and pasted on a wall into the elaborate shapes you see in pictures (like the hipster GROW pictures).

BUT, moss graffiti is a real thing and would be fun to try out around campus this spring.... Especially since the legality is hazy (you're planting moss, not permanently vandalizing a wall.)

Here is a basic guide to doing some at home.  You just need moss, buttermilk, sugar, and beer (so have a green graffiti party and use up all the extra beer. You can also make seed bombs.)

Another great idea for "green" graffiti is a new trend called "reverse graffiti" which is art through cleaning..
Essentially, you erase the soot and pollution built up in urban areas to create a reverse image.
Again, legality is gray (or green) but it has prompted local officials to clean the streets..

Have fun (and don't get caught)!!

Emely's Crappy Landscape Photo

This originally looked better in real life, but here it is!  I tried to capture a grapefruit sunset during the bustling 5-6pm hour.  I have a friend in California who is constantly sending me pictures of the sunsets he sees, and his most recent one had the same colors.  I wanted to make the point that, even in the city when everything is "go, go, go" you can stop and appreciate nature.
